These funds will support organizations, individuals and causes that contribute to the well-being and foster the growth of Québec’s elderly so they can continue to pursue their aspirations in happiness.

Luc Maurice, President and Founder of Le Groupe Maurice, announced today the creation of a foundation that is committed to distributing a minimum of $10 million over the next five years. These funds will support organizations, individuals and causes that contribute to the well-being and foster the growth of Québec’s elderly so they can continue to pursue their aspirations in happiness.

The Luc Maurice Foundation officially launched its activities at the 2017 Sommet sur la culture philanthropique (summit on philanthropic culture), an initiative of the Institut Mallet running until tomorrow at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

“A report produced by the Institut Mallet and presented at the 2017 summit on philanthropic culture shows that the number of private foundations in Québec has seen substantial growth of 57% between 2005 and 2015,” noted Jean M. Gagné, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Institut Mallet. “The creation of the Luc Maurice Foundation is a fine illustration of this trend and of the desire of individuals to make a real difference in their community. This type of initiative is to be applauded.”
