This federal election, the stakes couldn’t be higher for pharmacare. The federal government passed national pharmacare legislation in October 2024 for contraceptives and diabetes treatments, but most provinces and territories haven’t signed an agreement yet. This legislation is more than a policy change. If implemented correctly, pharmacare will save countless lives.
We need every candidate running in the federal election to commit to supporting and expanding pharmacare. Canadians can’t afford to see this life-saving legislation taken away before it’s even been implemented.
This week, join CFNU President Linda Silas for a discussion with leading pharmacare advocates about how we won this legislation and the importance of keeping up the pressure to keep Canada on the path for everyone to have access to the medications they need.
